Filter the fake, Share the Truth

Media and Information Literacy really changed the way I express myself online. Before, I would just post or share things without thinking too much about whether it was true or not. But now, MIL helps me slow down and really think before I speak. Since everyone has the freedom to say anything on social media, I realized that our words can spread fast so they should be truthful and responsible.

MIL helps me check the information I see before believing or sharing it. I’ve learned that not everything online is real, and sometimes people use their freedom of speech to spread fake news or hurtful opinions. Because of MIL, I’ve become more careful about what I post. I make sure that what I share is based on facts, not just emotions. It also helps me express my opinions in a respectful way, even if other people disagree. I’ve learned that having a voice is important, but using it wisely is even more important.

Most of all, MIL helps me use my freedom of speech to spread positivity and truth instead of adding to misinformation. It reminds me that being heard is a privilege, and what I say can influence someone else. So now, whenever I speak online, I try to make sure my message is honest, meaningful, and helpful. MIL doesn’t take away freedom it teaches me how to use it properly.
